General Information

Please check the Noticeboards regularly for updated information and also be aware that our main form of communication is via email so please inform us of any changes to your address.

Please note that students are offered corrections throughout their classes by verbal, visual, or kinaesthetic means.  Kinaesthetic feedback enables the student to feel a correction.

Hands-on feedback is essential in an art form that uses the form of the human body.   This type of feedback may include placing hands on the students' trapezius to help facilitate release in a port de bras, turning out a student's leg, or moving the spine into the proper shape.

Corrections may be made by the teacher, an assistant or fellow student. To ensure that your child gains the most from their classes parents are not permitted to sit in during the class.

We are very happy to be able to provide our parents with a waiting area and fortunate to have Coffee Shops adjacent to the Studio and on the corner of Collingwood Street.    We do however, encourage parents to come and watch their child/children at all their classes during the last week of every term.  It is a great opportunity to gauge their progress and for you to share the classroom experience.

For the younger children who are just starting, parents are encouraged to bring their child into the room to meet and greet the teacher and other students, then when your child is comfortable please leave the room and wait downstairs.

End of year Concert

8th December (Saturday) 2012!
Our concert is booked at QUT Gardens Theatre, which is located on the edge of the Botanic Gardens for Saturday 8th December. The concert gives all students a chance to perform in front of an audience and is a great way of ensuring that they feel part of a professional production.

Extra Rehearsals
There will be extra rehearsals required for the concert which we are happy to advise will be provided at no additional charge.   Students will however, be required to commit to attending all rehearsals.

Costumes
Costuming  costs are kept to a minimum and are either hired or made to measure – maximum effect for minimum cost.

Volunteers
Helping backstage gives you an understanding of the tremendous effort that goes in by all students and teachers and is an enjoyable experience for all involved to be a part of the team.    If you are interested in helping with the production whether it be in costuming, behind the scenes, or if you have talents in other areas please let us know.
