Mayu Muto

Mayu is a freelance aerialist and a circus performer in Brisbane. 

More recent years she has presented her unique works at Gold Coast incubator project, HabitAt as a part of Anywhere theatre festival 2014, Queenland Poetry festival 2015,  Strong Women’s Project by Circus Oz,  Vulcana Women’s Circus cabarets, Tipping Point as a part of Wonderland festival 2015 and private events.  She also works with Aerialicious entertainment and Wilde Applause Entertainment an aerialist and a roving performer for various corporate events in Queensland. 

She is a graduate of Bachelor of applied Science ( Human Movement studies) QUT minoring in Fine Arts dance.  She has a strong background in Ballet and performed extensively during youth in Japan under Ms Kazuko Suzuki and studied various forms of dance in Royal Antwerp dance school in Belgium prior to moving to Australia.    

Mayu teaches aerials to children to adults at Vulcana Women’s circus and Circa training center and teaches ballet to children aged between 3-15 at Brisbane Dance Theatre in Coorparoo.  She has also taught Ballet and body conditioning at Arete academy of Arts in 2015.  She incorporate her knowledge of exercise science from Human Movement studies into teaching and passionate about encouraging students to explore their own styles and own beauty.  Mayu is also a qualified trainer of Pilates and Zumba.
